Unlike the other caterers we met who were too stuck in the comfort of Southern traditions, Tripp expressed genuine excitement for our unconventional Asian menu. During the cocktail hour, we had hand passed hors d’oeuvres of yakitori (chicken kabobs) and gyoza (stuffed dumplings). Our signature drink was a concoction Tripp came up with cleverly called the “Purple Pearl-tinis.” We did three stations: sushi, stir-fry, and beef tenderloin. We also had tempura chicken, spring rolls with spicy plum sauce, Asian meatballs, crab rangoon, and sesame encrusted petite grilled cheese for the kids. I can’t tell you which item was everyone’s favorite because all the guests have told me different things!
